History of AMCIS-VIDEO<\/h1>\u00a0Foundation and early years
The Schifflange Amateur Film Club AMCIS-VIDEO PRODUCTION (Association des cin\u00e9astes et vid\u00e9astes non-professionnels de Sch\u00ebffleng) was founded in 1953 and has been a member of the FGDCA (F\u00e9d\u00e9ration luxembourgeoise des cin\u00e9astes et vid\u00e9astes non-professionnels \u2013 Luxembourg) since 1954.<\/div>

Awards and achievements<\/h3>
In 1961, AMCIS won its first gold medal at the Concours National de Luxembourg with the nature film “Au bord du sentier” by club member Paul LOUTSCH.<\/div>
This success was repeated in 1970 by the AMCIS film group Chronos-Film with the film “Fire” and the film “Gartenspuk” by AMCIS member Gaston ROLLINGER, who even received the bronze medal in the same year.<\/div>
In 1971, the film “L’horreur des bois” by the Chronos-Film group was awarded the silver medal, and in 1974, the film “Sunday” by the Chronos-Film group received silver again.<\/div>
In 1992, AMCIS member Marc ERANG once again won the gold medal for the best Luxembourg amateur film with his film “Gwendolyn”.<\/div>

Our projects<\/h3>
The committee currently consists of 7 people who meet once or twice a week in the editing and recording studio to work on various projects, such as: editing and sound processing of recorded material (T\u00e9l\u00e9vie, concerts, various cultural or show organisations, local events and reports).<\/div>
A special project was the documentary “Being disabled and going to work \u2013 is that possible?”, a film about disabled people in their professional lives. For this project, 1000 DVDs were produced.<\/div>
We have also made fiction films: “The Kl\u00e4schen \u2013 then and now”, “We are being filmed”, “The green current” and others.<\/div>
The three Eurofestivals in Schifflange in 2003, 2013 and 2022 were filmed over 6 days. We have also been present with the camera abroad, including at the town twinning between Schifflange and Drussenheim in 1970 and 1971.<\/div>
We are increasingly committed to filming concerts. Of course, we also film the many activities of the municipality of Schifflange.<\/div>

Technology and modernisation<\/h3>
As AMCIS has invested heavily in the latest recording technology in recent years, it is now possible to process film productions in HD quality and to convert older films to the digital system and even improve them.<\/div>
The first film to undergo such a process and to be set to music is the 16mm film about the town of Schifflange from 1953 to 1956, made by Mr Aloyse CRELOT and Mr Nic. LACHEN. To conclude this film, a slideshow featuring pencil drawings of old buildings in Schifflange by Mr Raymond KOENIG was added.<\/div>
Recently, significant investments have been made in digital sound technology.
